Pedagogy in the Pub: Race and racism, the SDG’s and the ‘global learning crisis’ with Arathi Sriprakash

A reminder that our second Pedagogy in the Pub session will be held on 13th August fom 6 – 8pm, please register your attendance here: https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/64273961148

We are fortunate to have visitng scholar Dr. Arathi Sriprakash, Reader in Sociology at the University of Cambridge, who will consider how matters of race and racism have been treated within the SDGs, focusing on education and the ‘global learning crisis’.

In this session, Dr. Sriprakash asks, how can the field of education and international development better address its colonial past and what is its continued role in sustaining systems of racial domination? The session examines recent research on this question and encourages participants to identify and discuss how racism plays out in the knowledge-industries of international development – perhaps in relation to their own work.

We look forward to welcoming you to the Atrium room at the rear of the Oxford Scholar for this critical session.

All welcome, so feel free to distribute to your networks.
