What a great week it was last week for L&T! The L&T Conference on Tuesday and Wednesday was a terrific event and it was good to see so many SoEd staff presenting and participating.
Tricia played a key role on the organising committee, helping put together a great program. As well as opening and closing the conference Tricia also presented on L&T research impact. Jeff led the 1300 stream, which ran across both days and Thembi chaired one of the sessions. Mel and Kathy L presented their work on Belonging in the school. Rohan spoke about the impact of study tours on host countries. Belinda Kennedy shared the Global Canopy Project. Kathy J launched her TPA ATN grant and organised a presentation by MTP students and others in the Tech Schools initiative, also stepping in to chair a session expertly at short notice! I spoke on a couple of panels. A great display of SoEd passion, innovation and L&T leadership.
On Thursday afternoon the VCE staff participated in a PL session, facilitated by Amanda Telford. Complementing the work with Apple Education, this low-tech but high engagement session focused on two key Department initiatives: the Framework for Improving Student Outcomes (FISO) and High Impact Teaching Strategies (HITS).
Not sure which High Impact Strategy Damian was demonstrating, but it looks super!
