Using Zoom?

I’ve heard a few conversations over the last week about using Zoom as a way for us to keep in touch with each other and our students.

I’ve used Zoom many times and agree it is a great tool for hosting meetings and video webinars. The challenge is that it is not licensed by RMIT. The free version limits meetings to 40 minutes, which is rarely long enough for our use.

For our purposes I encourage all staff to use L&T Collaborate Ultra or Teams. Using these tools will ensure students and staff are well-supported. See https://www.rmit.edu.au/staff/teaching-supporting-students/enabling-online-learning-and-teaching

If these tools are not meeting your needs and/or there are functions of Zoom that you need, just let me know so we can look at solutions. We want to get the most out of tools that are fit for purpose, so don’t hesitate to be in touch if you have ideas.
