This post provides an update on the workload planning process and in particular the issue of time allocation for major HE L&T leadership roles in the school.
As you know, all staff have a 5% allocation for leadership and professional activity and a further 5% for administration.
Any increases in workload allocation for leadership of major projects are at the discretion of the Head of School and need to be “commensurate with the size and scope of the role.” (DSC Academic Workload Framework 2017). I am keen to ensure that allocations are fair, equitable and transparent. However, I am mindful that we are working within tight budget constraints.
I have been reviewing all leadership roles and associated time allocations that have been budgeted in the past. I will keep you up to date as decisions are made.
