Update from RMIT Europe

Below is an update from Marta Fernandez and our colleagues at RMIT Europe.

All the team at RMIT Europe send their best wishes for your health and wellbeing during this challenging time.

Our team of 22 in Barcelona – who are all safe and well – is in the fourth week of confinement here in Spain, with another two weeks to go. Like everyone during this time, we’ve adjusted our lives to find the right balance between working remotely, home schooling and progressing opportunities for RMIT in Europe.

In some ways, the move of all activity in Melbourne to online has shortened the distance between us. It has also brought us closer to our partners – making it easier to extend the connections from Australia to Europe. We are providing new ways for RMIT academics to connect students to European industry through online opportunities, including:

  • European industry online projects for your courses and virtual internships
  • industry and alumni leader online roundtables with senior academics
  • recorded guest lectures from European industry and alumni for your Canvas content.

Please share with your colleagues our slide pack describing these opportunities and encourage them to connect with our team in Europe.

I would also like to share with you the RMIT Europe Q1 Report, which highlights some of our recent achievements including RMIT being named as a partner in a €7.7M European research project on safety and security in metro and railway networks. Congratulations to Sujeeva Setunge, Nader Naderpajouh and Ron Wakefield.

We look forward to exploring how we can work together to create exciting and motivating student experiences during this time of rapid change.
