Textbooks requests semester 1, 2021
It’s time to identify the textbooks you need for your semester 1, 2021 teaching. Requesting by Friday 30 October will ensure the Library has the textbooks ready for the start of the year.
e-preferred To support online learning, the selection and use of e-textbooks is preferred. e-books have been vital during COVID-19 campus closures. This semester 85% of textbooks are available in digital form, that’sup from 54% in 2019.
e-textbooks are instantly accessible and offer interactive features such as text searching, annotation, note taking and highlighting options and they’re easy to add to Canvas.
There is uncertainty around access to print copies due to COVID-19. If your selection is only available in print, we will work with you to determine the best access method for your students.
Have print titles in your course and want to change to e-resources? If you have print resources identified for your course and would like to change over to e-resources we can help you find suitable options.
Need help finding titles?
We can help you find e-textbooks with licences which will facilitate easy and equitable access. Use the new tool, Faculty Select, to find and request unlimited user and unrestricted Library e-books. If you can’t find what you want, contact us for other options.
We can help you find free e-resources such as Open Educational Resources (OERs) which help reduce the cost burden to students. Tip: The publisher Cengage have made changes which restrict the access and usability of their publications. Find out more on the textbook submission page below.
