The policy watchers amongst us will no doubt have already clocked this parliamentary report from the House of Representatives Standing Committee on Employment, Education and Training. The report, released in May, includes a number of chapters that might interest SoE staff.
The chapter on Teaching and Teachers, covers recommendations on ITE entrance requirements, attracting talent to teaching, pre-qualification learning and development, post-qualification and in-service learning and development, and the potential impediments to teachers honing their craft, furthering their professionalism, and deploying their skills well.
Sections on transition to VE and HE,ATAR and NAPLAN, assisting indigenous students into post school education and employment, and students with disability may all be of interest.
