Town hall meetings

It was great to see many of you at the recent town hall meetings that we held on the City and at Bundoora in the last week. These meetings were a chance to hear updates from the three projects leaders:

  • Victoria and Mandi – academic alignment
  • Peter – research & HDR
  • Kathy – accreditation

It was good to also talk more broadly about the future of the school and share some initial thinking about a SoE digital habitat that we can use to communicate with each other as well as our students, alumni and partners. We are moving ahead with the school website and hope to be able to share our first iteration with you shortly.

As I said at both meetings we have an opportunity to make some exciting decisions. We are exploring ways to strengthen our pathways across VE and HE, leverage our VCE school within our Masters of Teaching Practice, consider the relative strengths of our various locations and move into a position as a leader of education pedagogy and research for the University.

I know there were staff on the City who were teaching on Tuesday afternoon. If you missed out on a town hall or want to come back for further conversation, please feel free to join me on Wednesday March 29 in the City at 12:30-1:30 in Building 51, Level 3, Room 2.

Over the coming weeks I will also be organising some breakfast meetings with our sessional staff, time to talk in more detail with our Program Managers, connecting with our students via their SSCCs, and attending our upcoming PACs.

We will run another series of town hall meetings next month.
