The new (ab)normal exhibition, opening on the 18 June, captures the creative pursuits of more than 40 staff, students, alumni and industry partners from the School of Art in response to their new working conditions during the pandemic.

Like much of society, the visual arts community has faced challenges associated with the virus including working from home, social isolation and financial uncertainty while at the same time the opportunity to physically display their work to the wider public is not yet possible due to restrictions.

Curated by RMIT Galleries Curator Helen Rayment and Lecturer in Arts Management Dr Tammy Wong Hulbert, the online exhibition was a way to give artistic expression to the new challenges and uncertainty faced by many of those in the visual art community.

The new (ab)normal exhibition can be viewed online from 18 June to 28 August 2020 on RMIT Gallery’s website.
