Staff Survey Results 2017 – some headlines

Following Paul’s email earlier this week I wanted to thank all SoE staff who completed the staff survey and share some headlines for the School.

The data is aggregated into two main variables:

  • passion/engagement
  • processes

You can see in the infographic below that on both aspects SoE staff feel more positive than 2015 when the survey was last completed and our staff feel more positive than the rest of the University. These are strong results.

The Vice Chancellor’s senior team also selected six key questions to focus on in this round. SoE results for these six questions are summarised above. Our staff are positive about most of these: you are proud to work at RMIT, are aware of the vision and think the leaders are good role models. Again there are some big positive changes here and we can be proud of the progress we have made.

There are areas that continue to present challenges for us and indeed for the whole university: change and communication.

Next week I will work with the Senior Leadership Group to review the data (quantitative and qualitative) in detail – exploring the strengths we can continue to build on as well as the areas where we can effect change.

I look forward to sharing more details with you over the coming weeks at town hall meetings on each campus and hearing your perspective. In the meantime let’s celebrate these very positive results.
