In positive news the SoE has been awarded DET Strategic Research Seed Funding for a $140,000 project Entrepreneurial Futures: tracking the impact of the tech schools and 21st century employability skills on students, teachers, and school communities in northern and western regions.  A large number of applications for Seed Funding were received, making the selection of projects for funding a highly competitive process.

The aim of the research is to measure and determine the short and longer term impact of tech school learning and critical 21st Century employability skills on students, teachers and schools. Project deliverables will include staged publishable reports, survey data, infographics, impact case studies, digital narratives (videos), school Futurefests and a final research report. This funding helps strengthen the relationships between RMIT and the Victorian Tech School Initiative, students, teachers and school communities in Melbourne’s north/north-western regions.

Congratulations to the team led by Tricia McLaughlin, including Kathy J and Alison Lugg. A wonderful outcome!
