Retreating to advance

As you may have noticed the Senior Leadership Group was off site late last week. We spent a very chilly Thursday and Friday on retreat in Marysville. And it really was chilly when the heating failed in the conference centre!

Despite the cold, it was a valuable time for our newish team to strengthen relationships, consolidate priorities and have robust, warming conversations about pedagogies for learning. Working with facilitator Linda Betts, we spent time understanding the history of the SoEd and reviewing our ways of working to best lead the school.

As we move into the second half of the year we have significant projects to deliver including the renovation of b.220 and the ongoing development of the Urban School. At the same time we are staying focused on the work scoped out in the Discipline Road Maps as well as meeting KPIs around L&T, research and the financial viability of the school. All with a view to Shaping Education, Shaping the Future. As a foundation to all of this work the wellbeing of our staff and students remains a priority.

If you want to know more about the retreat, please feel free to talk to any of the SLG team.
