Orientation at Bundoora

Many thanks to everyone who helped make O Week at Bundoora such a success this week.

On Tuesday we welcomed all our UG and Grad Dip Ed (Early Childhood) students to campus. Uncle Mick Edwards provided a beautiful and moving Welcome to Country – inviting our students to walk tall. It was a great start to their learning journey with us and terrific to have so many staff present.

My thanks to Al and Julie who helped facilitate this.

Over two days our new students undertook activities and received information that moved from university to campus to school to program, with a focus on belonging and connection. The EC team ran yarning circles, building on an indigenous thread running through the discipline.

Later year student generously volunteered across the days, bringing much valued experience. Our HPES students coordinated basketball matches for students and staff on Wednesday, with all participants being great sports.

Thanks to all the program managers and professional staff for your coordinated efforts and all staff who participated across the two days. I look forward to reviewing the events and seeing how we can continue to build on strengths for 2020.
