Please see below an email the VC sent to the VE community yesterday:
I recently shared our proposal to create a new College of Vocational Education (VE) and today I’m delighted to announce that Mish Eastman will be joining RMIT as our new Pro Vice-Chancellor for Vocational Education.
Mish will lead the work in designing the new College and continue to support our hard-working teams as we keep focused on our important compliance work. I know she’s very keen to get out and meet our students as quickly as possible too.
This is a really exciting appointment for RMIT as we stay focused on creating a united, supported and empowered VE community that is set up for success.
Mish has diverse experience in leading through complexity, across both tertiary education and health environments. Most recently, she was Executive Director Pathways and Vocational Education (PAVE) at Swinburne University of Technology, providing strategic and operational leadership over teaching and learning programs.
She has strong expertise in identifying and creating new models of education and training in collaboration with industry, enhancing tertiary pathways, and understanding how to create educational and employment success for learners.
I am delighted that Mish will also join my Vice-Chancellor’s Executive (VCE) team and report to Belinda Tynan, Deputy Vice-Chancellor Education. I look forward to having two passionate and dedicated leaders representing the VE community during the College scoping and design process.
Mish will start with us on 18th November 2019 and join Belinda at the next VE Town Hall on 26th November to start getting to know you all.
VE is part of our DNA, and today’s announcement reiterates our commitment to its long-term success. Thank you for all the work you do and join me in welcoming Mish to RMIT.
