Universities Australia is  currently undertaking a National WIL Audit for 2017. The primary aims of this audit are to:
  • help develop a national baseline for WIL activity
  • strengthen ties between higher education and industry and
  • showcase the innovative ways that our universities are preparing students for their careers.
Thanks to the impressive achievements of the HE Professional Experience Team – Shona, Jackie, Jenelle, Ros, Claudia and Damien – the School of Education ITE students successfully undertook a mammoth 2711 placements in 2017.
WIL activity is an important and substantial part of the student experience across our HE and many of our VE programs. The work it takes to place, supervise, support and debrief with these students is substantial. The audit provides a good opportunity to remind ourselves of the scale at which we operate and as we gear up for 2018 placements, a moment to pat ourselves on the back.
