The Faculty of Education at Monash University is launching Education Futures, an education think tank that imagines the future of education through research, debate, collaboration and innovation. Their goal is to foster fair and sustainable futures by collaborating with partners in government, schools, business and the wider community to translate research findings into real-world outcomes.

An exhibition showcasing some of the work of the group is scheduled, including a panel of distinguished educators and experts discussing the latest thinking on school design.

Presenters include:

  • Professor Deb Corrigan, Director, Monash Education Futures
  • John Sprunt, Principal Architect, Architectus Australia
  • Professor Joanne Deppeler, Monash Education Futures
  • Derek Scott, Principal, Haileybury College
  • Gail McHardy, CEO, Parents Victoria

Unfortunately the event clashes with The Future School, a session in the Australian Learning Lecture series to be held at the State Library that I know a number of SoEd staff will be attending.
