Launch of the RMIT Women’s Football Academy and other sporting news
RMIT Women’s Football Academy
Yesterday Toni and Jason attended the launch of the RMIT Women’s Football Academy in collaboration with Essendon Football Club. Pictured here are HPES students Emma Fraser (left) and Hayley Bullas (right) with our VC. Emma, who is about to graduate, has been playing competitively since her first year and represented the RMIT Redbacks in all the National Division 1 games.
First year HPES student, Hayley Bullas has been selected to be the RMIT Women’s Football Academy Ambassador. She recently won the Essendon Football Club VFLW Inaugural Best & Fairest award, and is a draft prospect for the upcoming AFLW draft. Great to see our HPES students so well represented.
Student Staff Basketball Match
In other sporting news don’t forget the Student Staff Basketball match scheduled for 1pm, Wednesday 31 October at BNASC. The students suggested the event earlier in the year and it will be a great way to celebrate the end of year.
There’s a role for everyone – playing, scoring, refereeing, cheerleading or supporting. The Staff All-Stars will include Toni, Anna, Al, Peter Meaney, Julie Gatt, and Jade Erickson. Other players, of all skill levels, are most welcome – contact Anna by Friday. Richard will be the MC the event and provide court-side commentary. Our Artistic Director, Travis will provide music and coordinate the cheerleaders. If you’re not up to playing, join the cheer squad!

There should be more of these opportunities. Great to see staff having some fun.
