The Australian Government Department of Education has commissioned an independent review of the implementation of the Literacy and Numeracy Test for Initial Teacher Education Students. dandolopartners, a public policy consultancy, is leading the implementation review.
About the implementation review
The first stage of this review is to build a national picture of how the test has been rolled out in different states and territories. The second stage (from October 2019) will analyse any impacts of the rollout. dandolo will engage with representatives from HE providers, state and territory education departments, teacher regulatory authorities and ITE students.
The implementation review may be used to inform future policy decisions around the test.
How to participate
HE providers of ITE will be key stakeholders in the implementation review, and there will be several opportunities this year to engage with this work. These include:
- A session at the Australian Council of Deans of Education Forum on 23rd August, which I will attend at Griffith Uni
- Interviews with a sample of providers to map implementation approaches (dandolo will be contacting these providers directly, over the next couple of weeks)
- Online questionnaires of all HE providers
- Detailed case studies of a sample of providers to analyse impact
