As Victoria’s only female premier, the late Joan Kirner legacy is characterised by her commitment to promoting women and reforming education. Joan dedicated her career to mentoring many young people, particularly women. The Victorian Government is recognising her legacy through the new Joan Kirner Program.

The Joan Kirner Program will enable up-and-coming female leaders to obtain the critical skills, networks and experiences required for advancement. It will empower women to progress as influential leaders in their communities, sectors and areas of interest.

The program will award scholarships to 25 young (18-40 years) and emerging women leaders who represent the six key categories reflective of Joan’s passions:

  • education
  • environment
  • women’s health
  • western suburbs of Melbourne
  • Aboriginal women
  • culturally diverse women.

To learn more about the leadership program visit the Women Victoria website.

I would be happy to support any of our students or staff interested in applying for this program.
