Effective Feedback Project

The OLT-funded Feedback for Learning project, led by Monash and Deakin, focused on effective assessment feedback in HE. It included a large scale survey of 406 staff and over 4000 students at Monash and Deakin Universities, seven rich case studies of effective feedback practices and a webinar which outlined the latest thinking on assessment feedback and provided an overview of the findings. You may be interested in a recent journal article summarising some of the survey data, particularly around emotional responses to feedback.

Another major deliverable of the project was an empirically derived framework, which includes a new definition for feedback, challenges to consider, conditions for feedback success, and suggested strategies for enhancing feedback. This website looks to provide useful information for program team discussions about the assessment and feedback process.

As part of the validation of the framework the team are seeking input from educators and senior leaders from all Australian universities through a short survey. I know they would appreciate your feedback.
