For all HDR supervisors – just in case you missed this recent communication from Sarah Stowe, Director, Research Training Services.
RMIT is changing the way it provides support to HDR candidates. From 1 January 2020, research training support will be provided through 5 new teams:
- Admissions & Scholarships
- College of Design & Social Context Research Training Services
- College of Business Research Training Services
- College of Science, Engineering & Health Research Training Services
These teams are all accessible to candidates but your primary contact will be your College-focused team.
How will I get the support I need?
We are just finalising the locations of the new teams. Once we have that confirmed, we’ll email you and let you know where you can find face-to-face support and how to access online support. There will be face-to-face service locations on all campuses.
Does this mean there will no longer be HDR professional support in my School?
Many School-based HDR staff are being drawn into the new teams. The location of the support you receive may change, but by drawing on a larger team, we are confident we’ll be able to provide better, faster, more personalised service to you.
What do I do in the interim period until the change?
Please use the same email addresses and approach the same staff you have been. Details of new contact points and locations will be provided before the end of the year.
When is the change happening?
The change is happening at the end of the year. New contact details and locations will be in operation from 1 January 2020.
Do candidates know about the change?
Candidates were sent a copy of this email. We’ll be in contact closer to the end of the year with more information.
