Building belonging through relationship with indigenous nations
In my DPVC, L&T role I have access to many inspiring examples of teaching across the College and an opportunity to share some of our SoE best practices with others. Here is one example from the new School of Design that was recently shared with me.
This studio, Designing with Indigenous Nations run by Yoko Akama & Peter West, explores issues of identity, culture, place, history and sovereignty, helping students better understand their own relationship with indigenous people. The book produced by the studio documents the aims, processes and artefacts arising from the studio. I found it an inspiring read.
