Building 202, Level 2 is getting a major makeover – as are RMIT Connect and the RMIT University Student Union (RUSU) Spaces.
When is this happening?
As part of the Strategic Investment Fund for the year 2017, Property Services are redeveloping Level 2 of Building 202 to improve building facilities focusing on student and staff experience.
Please note that Building 202, Level 2 will be closed from 1 October 2017 to 4 February 2018, however facilities in Level 1, Level 3 and 4 will remain accessible.
What is changing?
The refurbished RMIT Connect will have two AV enabled Mega Flex Rooms (Meeting Rooms) available for staff and students that will be bookable via Google Calendar.
The rooms are designed to be flexible and can form into one big event space via a concertina partition wall.
You can see images of how we plan to transform the space here.
Is there any access change to B202.02/04?
Building 202 Stairwell will remain accessible however the lift will not be accessible from Level 2 during construction phase.
Access impaired staff and students can access Building 210 lift with the assistance from RMIT Security to get to Levels 3 and 4.
There will be adequate signage onsite to direct staff and students to nearby amenities and facilities during construction phase.
RUSU changes – and a new location
On 5 February 2018, Our RUSU Services team will move from Building 204 into newly refurbished Building 202, Level 2 RUSU in time for Semester 1, 2018.
The new RUSU office will include a brand new Front of House service point, back of house staff desks, Students Rights Office, Compass Drop in Centre, Compass Consult Room, Women’s Room and Queer Room.
Thank you in advance for your patience during this disruption.
