Matthew Salier joins RMIT as the Activator Director, accelerating work around innovation, intrapreneurship and entrepreneurship across RMIT.

Matt has significant experience supporting start-ups and developing innovative education programs, having founded and run the New Venture Institute (NVI) at Flinders University, South Australia.

Starting the NVI with just one ‘employee’ (a pot plant) in 2013, Matt then built it in to a highly successful incubator, with more than 350 start-ups supported and thousands of students and executives trained in entrepreneurship and innovation since inception. The NVI was named top university-based incubator / accelerator in the Asia-Pacific by UBI Global in 2018.

A father of three girls, Matt’s passion is driven by the potential for future generations. He is excited by the new opportunities and potential offered by Activator in Melbourne and overseas, including through the recently launched Activator Vietnam in Ho Chi Minh City.
