A coup for SoEd

I am delighted that we have secured both Tricia and Rucelle as ongoing staff in the SoEd.

A/Prof Tricia McLaughlin joined us in 2017 on a three-year secondment from SEH College Office. Since then she has made an outstanding commitment to the school, leading first the MTPs and more recently the Urban School. Along with Di Siemon, Tricia established the 1300 Club for the University and has led the group with her usual passion and strategic vision. Her idea to publish papers from the RMIT L&T conference has already been realised, with a Spinger book now on the shelves. She is a woman of action! Tricia is a creative and committed researcher, has established award-winning global mobility experiences for students and is a dedicated teacher. She is a much valued member of the Senior Leadership Group and was elected to RMIT Council. I am thrilled that she has accepted our offer to make the SoEd her permanent home.

I am equally delighted to welcome Dr Rucelle Hughes as an ongoing member of the SoEd. Rucelle made an impressive contribution to the B.Ed teaching team while completing her PhD. She is an inspiring and reflective teacher, committed team member and has embraced the opportunity to support the B.Ed students and staff at Brunswick during the teach out phase. She has been an engaged and active member of the group leading the b.220 renovations and is generally a force for positivity, deeply reflective practice and innovation. I am delighted Rucelle is joining us permanently.
