The promotion round will open on April 22. This will be the second year under the new Academic Promotion Framework. There will be some changes to better clarify the three domains: Education, Research and Engagement. Stay tuned for more information after Easter.
In good news, the 2019 round was characterised by good success rates comparable to the sector. This was particularly so for women, with 81% of applicants promoted (up 15% from the previous year) and applicants from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds (up 12% from the previous year).
The process now focuses more on readiness than just eligibility, realistic advice from Deans and line managers, and increased clarity about expectations.
